The Campbell Cohen Immigration Law Firm can help you ensure that all documents are complete, correct, and submitted on time.
Are you one of the 30,000 fortunate PGP applicants who have been invited to submit a sponsorship application over the coming weeks?
Exceptionally, this year, IRCC invited a record number of people to apply for the 2021 Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP), giving more Canadians and permanent residents than ever the opportunity to bring their loved ones to Canada. This is an extraordinary opportunity that must not be jeopardized in any way.
The way Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is receiving applications for the 2021 PGP is different from previous years. IRCC randomly selected and sent invitations to individuals who were already in the pool of potential sponsors and had submitted an interest to sponsor form in 2020. These invitations were sent by email or, if that was not possible, by mail between September 23 and October 4, 2021.

If you submitted an interest to sponsor form in 2020 and have not received an invitation, you may want to check the email account you used to submit your form, including your spam/junk folders for messages from IRCC. The subject line of the email used by IRCC to inform applicants that they have been invited is “Parents and Grandparents Program Invitation / L’invitation à présenter une demande dans le cadre du Programme des parents et des grands-parents – CPCM / CTDM”.
If you are one of those who are invited to apply, you must submit your application online, including all supporting documents such as income tax records, civil status documents, and other material information, within 60 days from the date of your invitation.
Time is therefore limited and the window to submit your application will close quickly.
Understanding the intricacies and details of an immigration application can be difficult. You may be concerned with making sure that you meet the PGP eligibility criteria, that you provide all the correct information, and that you don’t forget a necessary requirement to maximize the chances of your application being approved.
An experienced immigration lawyer can help you navigate through the application process, avoid mistakes and potential negative outcomes.
