British Columbia and Manitoba hold immigration draws; Alberta provides processing updates

This week the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) and the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) held immigration draws.

The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) provided processing updates on their provincial immigration streams.

In separate draws, British Columbia and Manitoba invited candidates on the basis of their professional experience, education, and inclusion in special strategic recruitment initiatives.

In the second draw, for the Skilled Worker Overseas stream, the MPNP issued 79 letters of advice to apply to candidates who had been invited under a “Strategic Recruitment Initiative”. Candidates required a score of at least 582 to be invited.

Of the total of 348 candidates invited under both draws, 56 declared having a valid Express Entry profile and job seeker validation code.

The AAIP published processing updates this week.

These updates report how many nominations have been issued, how much of their provincial allocation needs to be filled, and the current status of processing for each stream. These are detailed in the tables below:

Note: For candidates whose work permit is expiring in 2024, the AAIP is evaluating these applications based on the ‘Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Program Candidates’, to determine if candidates may be issued a letter in support of a work permit extension.
